How Much Do You Value One Putt?

I was watching the Wyndham Championship this weekend and they interview Scott McCarron. In the interview they asked what he was working on in terms of putting. Scott mentioned he has been using the Aimpoint System to help him with reading the greens. Being curious I googled aimpoint and found www.aimpointgolf.com. Discovered a page called “How Much Is One Putt Per Event Worth”?

Daughters First Round

On Mothers Day, my wife pushed me out the door to go golfing. After confirming and reconfirming that it was OK that I could going out for a quick round. My daughter also wanted to go out but I thought she and I may benefit from going to the range instead. The facility we went to has a Driving range, a 18 hole putting course and a par 3 course. Driving in I noticed the par was not very busy and I asked her if she wanted to go to the range or play 9 holes. She has been to the range before but has never played a round on the golf course. So we decided to play 9 holes.

USA Wins 2008 Ryder Cup

I did not give Team USA much of a hope at winning this year’s Ryder Cup. Team USA did prove me wrong. What really surprised me were the players that were clutch under pressure. One Way to Boost Your Confidence and Improve Your Score

How often in a round do have an approach shot you know that your 7 iron will end up short but your 6 iron will go too far? My guess it is too many. There are times where we set up to play to a certain part of the fairway but we do not execute well. However most times we just aim at a target and try to hit the ball as far as we can. Now if you have been playing golf for a while you will probably have a good idea of how far you hit each club. Knowing your distances for each golf club is not enough.

Are Divots Hurting Your Golf Game

Many course where I lived open the course for the season on full green in mid-April only to have it snow for a week straight. So far this season we have only been able to read about golf than actually play or practice. The local newspaper has a weekly golf section and last week it dedicated a large portion of the article on fitness, nutrition and injury prevention. One article on injury prevention was written by a doctor and had a statement that caught my eye.
