Keep Mental Errors to a Minimum in Match Play

This weekend I played in a Mens Open event that is based on match play. I love watching and playing in match play events. In this format you are placed in a foursome and are assigned one player that you will play against for the front 9. Winners of the two matches playoff on the back nine and the match losers playoff on the back nine also.

I was watching the Wyndham Championship this weekend and they interview Scott McCarron. In the interview they asked what he was working on in terms of putting. Two Month Countdown to Golf Season

Last season was disappointing in many ways. One big difference between last season and the 2008 season was the lack of goal setting. Aim at nothing and you will achieve nothing. Or another way of looking at it is I achieved all the goals I wrote down, none. This year I want to change that and set goals in writing. So here I go……

First I want mother nature to cooperate this spring and show up on time. Last it felt like winter skipped over spring and jumped right into summer. A late start to say the least. Seemed everyday I could golf last spring the weather did not cooperate. If I remember right it snowed once a week in the month of April. It would snow heavily then gradually would melt away then we’d have two days of cleared weather and it would snow again. Natures version of rinse and repeat. I know I cannot control such things but just hoping to have the season start on time.

2008 Golf Season Recap

With Jack Frost visiting us a few times in the last couple of weeks I began to look at a post I published last year where I published my golfing goals for 2008. Hitting the Mental Ceiling

Ever wonder why at times your skill level improves but your score does not. When a golfer hits this stage the problem itself may not be in the swing motion because your ball striking is solid or you are putting well.
