One Hundred Push Up Challenge

So how many push ups can you do in a row? 5, 10, 20, 50, 100+? Are you up for a Challenge? How long would it take you to do 100 push ups in one set. Imagine how you will feel after you could finish 100 push ups in one go both physically and mentally?

Mike at Life in the Rough has challenged his readers to take the 100 Push Up Challenge. Mike was challenged by a reader of his blog to participate and complete the challenge.

Why push ups? First the price is right. It does not cost anything to do a push up unless you buy push bars or handles. They can be done anywhere at almost any time. They are a basic and common exercise that anyone can do. They work many muscle groups including the chest, triceps, biceps, shoulders, and torso.

How will push ups benefit you the golfer? Getting your body into the push up position engages the core muscles in your torso. A stronger core will protect your lower back, help with posture, and keep your body more stable. Stronger shoulders and chest will help you stabilize the club while you swing it. Being able to do 100 push ups will also give these muscles a sense of endurance.

Are you for the challenge? I began the test today and was surprised a how few push ups I could do in a row. I assumed I was in relatively good shape but I assumed wrong. I though I could easily get to at least 30 push ups and was surprised I could only do 16. Challenge your self and set a goal of doing 100 push ups in a row within 6 weeks.     Hi,

    I dont think i could get 100 push up per day to help me as golfer. There are some other way that i could get more..

    When I was training to become a cop, I got up to 55 pushups in under a minute, but I cant imagine how hard it would be to do 100!

    I can only do 5 a day. I’m a bit lazy. Haha. But I’m starting to go back to training so I hope to do more than just 5.

    Now thats a challenge… 100 push ups! 20 would be a challenge at this point.

    No, not just a challenge… Hell getting there.

    Good for you. In spite of what some people think, you definitely gotta be in shape for golf. Especially if you go more than 18…it’s rough!
