Captain’s Pick Monday is September 2 this year for the [tag]2008 Ryder Cup[/tag]. I am still used to the Captain’s Pick falling on the Monday after the PGA Championship. Right now the US team has its 8 qualifiers set and Paul Azinger will get to pick 4 players as his Captain’s Picks. Who do you think he will pick?

PGA.com is running a poll on who you think Paul Azinger should pick. Here are the players they give as possible choices this year and you are able to choose 4 players from the list.

The PGA.com list only has one player with previous Ryder Cup experience, Chad Campbell. From the list above only three players have won a PGA Tour event this year and they are D.J. Trahan, Sean O’Hair, and J.B. Holmes.

If you are having a difficult time with who you think Paul Azinger should pick you are not the only one. Check out this article posted on PGATour.com. Where golf writers pooled together and submitted to each other who they would pick and there was no consensus. The trouble they are having is that at the moment none of these players are on a hot streak, with the exception of maybe J.B. Holmes.

If it was my choice I would choose: J.B. Holmes, D.J. Trahan, Sean O’Hair, and Jeff Quinney. The first three I chose because they each have a win this year. As for Jeff Quinney he was chosen because of the choices above he had the best ranking in the statistics for putts in greens in regulation.
