Wishing the Best for Amy and Phil Michelson

Earlier today Phil Michelson announced through his management company that his wife Amy has been diagnosed with breast cancer. Phil said he will suspend his playing schedule indefinitely. Phil Michelson has two wins to his credit so far this year at the Northern Trust Open and the CA Championships at Doral. Having been through a breast cancer scare with my wife I wish the best for Amy and Phil.

This is really sad news. It seems to be happening a lot to sports people, too, which on a positive note helps to get the message out about how widespread this disease is. I hope some good comes out of the news being spread far and wide. All the best guys!

Gee, in life we certainly face some difficult dedcisions, I am glad to see Phil knows what is important in life. As a sport psychology consultant I am often advising on keeping balance to avoid burn-out and ensuring that you know what your priorities are. I hope Phil also uses his knowledge of imagery to help his wife to see herself in good health without the cancer - our mind is a powerful tool and we need to use it consciously. Go well Phil and Amy
P.S. Can’t believe I only heard about this through your blog!

We continue to prayer for you, Amy and your mother for a speedy and complete recover, Phil, I would like you to know that my husband and I have followed your career since you were in college. It is indeed to watch your grace, courage, and professionalism. We live in CT. and have watched you at the TPC in Cromwell several times and just recently the Open in New York as well as the TD Bank in Mass. You are a tremendous role model for children and my grandson who is 15 and his friends are constantly being reminded by me to follow your attitude, not only in the game of golf, but in life. As a retired Special Ed teacher, I am so pleased how you are giving back with your foundation.
I was estatic when you won over your next opponent by three strokes on Sunday…it brought me to tears as I can only imagine the stress you have been under recently, and yet you always keep your composure. Don’t ever lose the focus of family first…I will never forget the scene on the Open you played with Payne Stewart when Amy was expecting your first child. Keep up the good work Phil and will be looking forward to next season when I have the confidence you will be very successful…God bless you and your family…Treaty Fuller
